Why I drive a 1998 GMC Pickup…

In On the Trail on May 6, 2010 at 1:16 am

For those of you who don’t know, I drive a 1998 GMC Pickup with 225,000 miles on it.  I know something about living within my means and firmly believe that the government should as well.  It is a very easy solution: cut spending.  When the economy returns then we can spend more and do many things that we really can do without immediately.  We all have to learn to live with less during this sluggish economy and as your sheriff, I will see to it that the Rock County Sheriff Department does too!

Are you wondering why I have multi-colored pamphlets?

These are the reasons for my multi-colored campaign pamphlets:

  • Green: for the grassroots campaign, limited funds, and the need to be frugal
  • Blue: For God and the sky above.
  •  Orange: For all of us conservationists
  • Pink: For high visibility inmate uniforms for safety when they are picking up trash
  • Red: For the blood shed for this great nation
  • Yellow: For the yellow ribbons tied around trees in support of our troops

Citizen Advisory Board

In On the Trail on January 31, 2010 at 1:26 am

I would like to instiute a citizen advisory board.  I value diverse opinions as to what people expect of the sheriff department.  This board will be made up of everyday working people.  They have a much better view of things.  We cannot make a difference overnight, it will take time, and the only way it will happen at all is for  people to trust the department.  This will onlly happen thru a working relationship between the S.O.   Board members will change yearly.  The only compensation received will be the satisfaction of making a positive change.  Tell me what you think!
